End of School

I enjoy the kids being home and not having to go to school.
Yesterday was the last day for our school district.  The kids played outside until late, it was great to see them hang out with their friends.

I have been working on Cub Scout day camp program write ups- camp is only 3 weeks away, I cant believe its come around so quickly.

Jason plans on beginning the pantry this weekend. I am excited to see how that turns out. I am definately going to take before and after pictures. I think I am excited to have more cabinet/counter space; especially this fall for canning.

February 2012

Alot has happened since my last post. We got licensed for foster parenting. We currently have an 8 year old boy. Some days with him are better than others. Andrew is preparing to cross over into Boy Scouts. He is already asking me about working on merit badges- he's definately my go getter. Jason has been appling to different universities, so we'll see if he gets into an engineering program. I know he will do well, if he can just get in. He was accepted to BYU Idaho, we have to wait for the paperwork to see if the engineering program will accept him. All I can do is put it in Heavenly Father's plan. Matthew is working on driving, so hopefully he can get his license by next month. Jonathon is doing well, just needs to focus more and Thomas is still Thomas; what can I say.

March

Things have been going well here.  Jason and I are working on our temple prep classes. My goal is to be done in April with the classes, so we will see. I would like to get sealed in May, but I dont think that is going to happen. My aunt will be back in June, so hopefully she will be available. Homeschooling is going well. I enjoy having the kids home. I also like how they are not exposed to the "drama" and "nonsense" that goes on in public school. Andrew,Thomas, and Morgan ( my niece) are doing track. They all enjoy it. I have a week and a half of school left. I look forward to having my Saturdays and Tues/Thurs evenings free. Jason and I have lots of goals this spring/summer for the house, so we will see what opportunities will come. Jason also graduates this quarter from GRCC :). Hopefully he can get into the UW. There are times that this process feels as if it has gone on forever. I look forward to spring arriving, so I can garden.

Fall

Wow, I can't believe that fall is now here. My trees are turning color. My vegetable garden was a sad. This is the first year I haven't had a large amount of tomatoes. On the plus note, I have had numerous zucchini. Tomorrow my goal is to make bread with them. I am off work the next 3 days. I am looking forward to it. I have been studying; and plan to spend the next several days catching up on studying. I like my psych professor. We only have 23 students in our class. My first class for AP is this Saturday. I'm nervous, only because I don't know what to expect. We will see. I took Jonathon, Thomas and Andrew to the fish hatchery in Issaquah. They had a good time.  Hopefully I can incorporate more outings like this in the future for the kids.

This week

Has been good. Jason's last day was Friday at UPS :)  So he is working for Cory again at the carwash. It will be nice to have him home in the evenings again. I know the boys' missed having him home. Wednesday is the first day of school for Matt. He will get his schedule at school that day. He is funny, he really hasnt said if he is nervous, excited or anything. My other boys will start their homeschooling this week. Jason and I both figured if anything, this next year will teach us on how they learn. I am excited because on my days off, we can go and do something educational. I really want them to get the opportunities to see and do things. Jon asked me today about karate lessons. Jason and I talked about it, and will look into it for him.  This next week will be busy for me. I will have fruit to can, Thomas has his shots/yearly physical appointment tomorrow, piano lessons, scouts. I think that i am going to get rid of my eating nook table/bench and put in cabinets so i have more storage. The boys usually eat at the dining room table, and i am rapidly running out of room in the garage ( besides i think Jason would appreciate getting back some of his space in their- i am slowly taking over, lol ).
