Progress

This drawer was full. I have filled one box full of paper, and two brown paper bags full of shredded paper. I still am working on the upper drawers and shelves. This project is definitely time consuming. I  will be glad about having everything cleaned off on it.

Organization

Since school is now over for this term, my goal is to resume organizing -room by room. I can't stand clutter. My goal is to do one area a week.

My desk is the victim    target this week. I will go through the drawers and toss/shed what we dont need. I have already filled a brown sack with junk mail/shreddings :)

My next goal will be to go thru the music CD's. We have lots. I already starting go through mine and got rid of several. I just need hubby to do the same.

If the weather is decent, I want to get the windows replaced in the basement. We didnt do it this weekend because of the weather . It poured rain most of yesterday.

Off to declutter!

Almost Done

There is a light at the end of the tunnel.
This is my last week of school, for this semester.
I am happy with my grades so far. I am signed up for 17 credits for fall quarter.
Been working on the house here and there, hubby has been working alot, which has made it challenging to get projects done.
We did the windows downstairs. There were gaps as big as the Grand Canyon. No wonder that room was always freezing.

I didn't get any before pictures- I was at school when the project was started.
This room is so much warmer now. We are motivated to get the other windows changed out as well.

These bulbs never bloomed last year. I dont know if it was because of the mild winter or what.
I am excited there are different colors out there this year.
My peach tree and pear tree were butchered prior to use moving in here.
My pear tree has lots of new growth, and is covered in blossoms. It looks so much better than it did at this time last year.

Jason and the boys are going to redo the fence around the chicken house. TJ hit one of the post with the riding lawnmower last year. We bought bigger posts and are cementing them in.

When we put the fence up, we did not know there were sprinkler heads in there. The ladies have done a fine job digging around them.

So, we are moving the fence so they aren't in their pen. They will end up with a bigger space after the fencing is moved.

My FK were suppose to have a court date last week, but it got moved. Dad's lawyer no-showed. It was rescheduled for this Wednesday, with a big hearing for next month (which I am thinking will really be in June). We will see. I have the younger boy signed up for baseball, and I have registration forms for football in the fall. The forms are due in July. 

They are excited to get library cards ( I need to get this week). The older boy loves art, the younger one loves engines. They are both happy to be here, because they get to do different things. I am all for kids having things to do, keeps them out of trouble. 

One of Jason's coworkers gave him a Honda 125 motorcycle. It needs lots of work. The boys are excited about it. They have to rebuild the engine, and other things :)

Chickens

I have 10 hens. 4 are a year old, one is 2, the other 5 are 4-5 years old. I have been getting 7-8 eggs a day. I love having them.

Happiness is

~ having all the boys play together, and genuinely enjoy each other's company

~ having a large yard for the kids/dogs to play in

~ having a new washer and dryer that can do large loads :)

~ having case lot sales, being able to stock up on groceries. I saved over $100.

~ the weather has been beautiful, working in the yard, set up a compost location

~ being ahead work wise in my school work

~ this week is spring break for school.

~ being able to bake.

Still here

Well,things are moving along. I'm in school full time. It's going well. School is definitely keeping me busy. On a plus note, I completed one math class and started another. Our foster kids move in this weekend. They are excited as are we. 

The snow is mostly gone. There is still a ton of leaves out there ( sigh). I should be able to make my raised garden beds this year. I will be able to use some of the leaves.  We are also planning on planting some apple trees out front. My neighbor has some. I am hoping they can cross pollinate. We are going to redo part of the fence, and will be planting grape vines to grow on the fence. 

No for the weather to get just a little warmer.

February 1.

School is keeping me busy and then some.

We have had quite a bit more snow

It's currently 19 degrees out.

We ordered a new washer and dryer today. They hold so much more than the one I have ( it's 3.0, I'm getting 4.8)

We will probably be getting two boys for possible adoption. I will know more in a couple weeks. They are boys. Get along amazingly with my kids. Share a lot of the same interests as well.

Will post more later, for now I need to hit the rack.
