Plans for this week

So far, school is working out ok. I am fast tracking my math, so as long as I keep above 80% on the quizzes and tests, I don't have to turn in homework and alit of other paperwork busy things. I can do two math classes for the same price
I am ahead in all my classes. My goal is to stay ahead. I hate getting behind. Tomorrow is a holiday ,so unfortunately the testing center is closed.

I have spent months looking at coffee tables. I would like one for the basement. It's been frustrating as I haven't found one I like. Since hubby and I are resourceful ( or try to be), I think we will just build our own. I have some ideas in mind, so I don't think it will cost all the much. I was looking online to see if anyone was getting rid of/selling lumber. I didn't see anything that would have worked. I did, however come across an ad for cinder blocks. I will contact the individual tomorrow.

Happy Sunday!

School

I stared school today. I have 4 classes, they are all online. It will be a lot of work, but I know I can do it :).  One bonus is for my math, I can fast track and do 2-3 math classes in one term. For the same price.  I need to do some studying in Chemistry, then do more work on my math and English. Saturday I need to take one test, hopefully I can take another exam on Tuesday. Medical terminology you can work ahead in as well. I personally would like to whip thru it and be done. After next week, I will have to cut down to two days a week a work. I am not going to meet myself coming and going.

Sunday

Everyone is still asleep, except my and the animals. Dinner is in the crockpot, dishwasher is unloaded, I am baking chocolate chip muffins.
It's softly snowing. My chickens are actually outside. Friday we replaced the kitchen window. It's nice to not have ice on the inside or feel the cold air pour in.
The old window.
No window

New window. We are definitely motivated to replace the others.
I start school tomorrow. Bought my books Friday. I'm excited. We will see where it goes.
Yesterday we had two boys over. They are in the foster care system. They need permanent placement. The foster home they are in does not do permanent placement. We had them all day. They fit in well with our boys. They share many interests as mine. Love animals,Legos, playing football. They love football. They impressed TJ with all the stats and teams they knew.
My goals this week are to come up with a dollar amount for windows and get some stuff caught up at work. My goal is to go down to two days a week in February.

Upcoming plans

We have now been here almost a year. It's definitely been interesting.
We still have probably a foot of snow on the ground, with more in the forecast for later this week.
I'm hoping this cold weather forced my fruit trees to " snap". I was sad that I didn't get fruit on any.
I have been contemplating what to do and the lay outs I will use for the garden beds. I'm leaning towards cinder blocks. It gets too hot here in the summer to mess around with lumber. I was contemplating corrugated metal, but I think cinder blocks will work out. I would like to build at least two raised beds this spring. I can add more every year.
We are planning on fencing the back yard. It is fenced, but we are talking about dividing further. I noticed last summer we had lots of grasshoppers. My thought is if we partition off the back, I can have one area for the dogs. The back 40 , as my kids call it will be garden beds. By partitioning it, I will be able to let the chickens free range and take care of the grasshoppers. Two of my dogs have strong prey drives, I want to avoid any temptations.
Eventually I want to get dairy goats, but I need to build another outbuilding for them. They need decent shelter.
Our side yard used to have the tall bush like trees. Hubby cut them down last spring. The neighbor didn't like them so we removed them. He has 4 apple trees. I am going to plant at least two. I have the space, and since my neighbor also has trees they can cross pollinate.
Now to wait for the snow to melt, whenever that is
