Sunny Sunday!

Currently, husband is cursing out who did the piss poor wiring here. Definitely not ok.my dad, who is an electrician, would have a coronary, or stroke out. All this started because the outlets in both bathrooms didn't work. They are wired, but there's no power. The bathroom downstairs there is a plate cover, no outlet. Hey, at least the wires behind the cover are "live".
Good thing my husband can do electrical work.

We pulled down the cabinet to place a smaller one, and prep the area for a microwave.
My husband wasn't impressed when he pulled down the hood. We had mice turds.
No, we don't have any signs of mice at the moment. My cats would be in their glory.
I do know the previous owner last year used a pest control company. We have lots of brush and leaves.
My kids spent the weekend raking up the leaves. Next weekend we will haul them to the dump.
We can haul a ton for ten dollars. I like that price.
This is the yard with minimal leaves..

Moved in!

We left around 630 in the morning last Friday, rolled into our new home a little after 830 that night.
The drive was long. There was really thick fog in the blue mountains and again in Southern Idaho. In Idaho it was unnerving because it was in the low twenties.
I love my lot, it's spacious and flat. There are several trees out back.
Monday I called U-pack, I had my trailer here by that afternoon. We had it unloaded in 5 hours. I thought we did pretty well.
I have been trying to go through items to get rid of stuff. I have two large totes. I have also been painting the inside of the kitchen cabinets. The cabinets themselves are in good shape, however they need to be refinished.

Here are some pics

This is from my back deck

My kitchen. Gotta love the green countertops..

This is what hubby calls " my green mile"

My backyard. The hens are in the kennel. They all survived the trip down here. Currently the coop has tarps around three sides to cut down on the wind. They also have a bale of straw in there to help keep warm.

Packed up

I had reserved a trailer from u-pack. The drop off time was 8-12, it was here around 830. The boys and I began packing. We got everything thing in, with a little room to spare. The youth from church came along with several adults. I am beat, plus sore. I have to work today, I don't plan on doing too much.  I have to go to the post office, ship some boxes, go to the dump, and pick up hubby. After I get hubby, we will lead the last few boxes in the van and suburban. The goal is to be out of here and on the road no later than 430, in the morning.
I'm hoping that are trailer will be delivered by Wednesday. I have to be there to sign for it, so I will probably call the company later tomorrow morning.
Saturday my goal will be to purchase a fridge, as the one in the house doesn't work for beans. Since its been cold, I told hubby we can keep food in the ice chest, it's like modified camping. I do need to buy an inflatable mattress. Sleeping on hardwood floors stink. In our new home, the carpet appears to be original. The house was built in 78, I don't think I want to sleep on those floors, ha ha ha.

T -3 days and counting

Wednesday is the day the trailer should be here. I have almost everything packed. My goal is to have the suburban packed by Wednesday morning.  I will make one more trip to the dump. I made a trip Friday,Saturday and today.
I cooked a turkey today. I put one bag of meat in the freezer, the other bag is in the fridge for us to eat.
The state didn't move my foster kiddos on Friday like they were suppose to. I can hardly wait until tomorrow to see what plan they have.
It feels weird, getting ready to move. I think in part because I was ready to stay here for many, many years.
I hope that we get the trailer loaded up Wednesday. I am hoping the transport company can pick it up Thursday
